Are you having difficulties in your life due
to unaddressed past trauma? Are you
struggling with intimacy in relationships?
Do you worry about body image and suffer
from low self-esteem? Does your trauma
affect your ability to be a good parent?
Trauma and childhood sexual abuse survivors have experienced violations of their personal boundaries and trust. They have not had the psychological and physical safety necessary for development into healthy adults.
It is common for survivors to feel shame, guilt and responsibility for their own victimization or to have unhealthy interpersonal boundaries. Some become distrustful, while others find any limit-setting or assertiveness difficult. Survivors of trauma may not know how to relate to others in a balanced way, and oftentimes experience the extremes in relationships.
It is possible to heal from trauma, through counseling, and to learn the skills needed to navigate your adult life.

“Over time as most people fail the survivor's exacting test of trustworthiness, she tends to withdraw from relationships.
The isolation of the survivor thus persists even after she is free.”

It is a direction not a destination." --Carl Rogers
