A California therapist for women in all stages of life and relationship

Teens & Young Adults

During this turbulent time, teens need someone they can confide in. Someone who is more committed to confidentiality than their best friend, and who has some real life experience, yet isn’t their parent. Priscilla helps teens, college students and new careerists gather focus, identify goals, repair relationships, and practice self-care.

Families

In the midst of your storm there is hope. Interactions with differing generations and viewpoints can be communicated to a final destination of peace and mutual understanding. Priscilla is skilled at revitalizing interpersonal relationships by guiding the family into more satisfying conversations that develop harmony through feelings of being heard, valued, and understood.

Individuals

Often people seek out therapy after they’ve suffered a loss in order to move to the acceptance stage. This transition can be difficult and can cause one to feel stuck, frustrated, anxious, and depressed. Priscilla acts as a guiding force to shed light on difficult circumstances and offer insight and validation.

Couples

Long-term relationships inherently pose problems and challenges to both partners. As an experienced couples therapist, Priscilla uses proven relationship systems to help couples break patterns, work on growth goals to become whole so they can be the partner their partner needs. This naturally results in harmony.

Priscilla Roach, AMFT

Priscilla Roach is a graduate of Hope International University in Fullerton, California with her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. She completed her practicum at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, California and holds her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Western University in Ontario, Canada. Priscilla conducts individual, couples and family therapy sessions with The Bridge Marriage & Family Therapy, and facilitates group therapy sessions for the Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Program at College Hospital Costa Mesa. Priscilla resides in Orange County, California.

Priscilla has a heart for helping tweens, teens and young adults.

She approaches the younger audience with an easy and open manner creating a relatable and accepting atmosphere. As a result, young people gravitate to her as they sense she attunes to their experience with genuine care. As a mother of three young adult women–as well as an uncanny memory of her own adolescent adventures–she understands this demographic, and the need for the confident guidance of a capable clinician to help support and empower them through this unique life stage.

Priscilla is a champion of marriage.

She aims to do two things: First, to come alongside new couples to lay down the solid foundation for a lifetime of success, be it in premarital counseling or guidance in the first five years of this lifelong commitment. Second, to restore communication and renew understanding between partners to help repair the damage that is inevitable in any long-term relationship. Priscilla has been trained in the Gottman Method, Prepare/Enrich, How We Love (Attachment Core Pattern Therapy), Imago as well as other empirically proven forms of treatment which facilitate communication and bolster the couple bond.

Priscilla is trained in EMDR, a revolutionary treatment for trauma

We have all experienced trauma along life’s path and it causes us to walk with a proverbial limp through the remainder of our lives. EMDR is not traditional talk therapy, nor hypnosis, but an exciting and effective tool that uses bilateral eye movements that enable the brain to untangle the painful memories buried deep in the subconscious. Priscilla has seen great success from this treatment for people who have experienced trauma and recommends EMDR sessions to anyone who would like to break free from the pain of the past.
